The olympiads, competitions and elective courses that the university takes into account upon admission to the university under special conditions

Pursuant to subsection 8 (2) of the Requirements for the Admission to the First and Second Level of Studies at Tallinn University of Technology established by Regulation No 1 of 15 February 2022 of the Senate of Tallinn University of Technology, I hereby approve the following Estonian national subject olympiads, competitions and elective courses considered by TalTech upon admission under special criteria:

1. Estonian national subject olympiads – has participated in the final round (or was invited to the final round in 2020) of one of the following olympiads for 11th- and 12th-grade students:
1.1 the Mathematics Olympiad
1.2 the Physics Olympiad
1.3 the Chemistry Olympiad
1.4 the Informatics Olympiad

2. Estonian national subject olympiads – ranked in the top ten in the final round of one of the following olympiads in the group of 11th- or 12th-grade students (or in the preliminary round of 2020 if no final round was held) or ranked among the top twenty in the overall ranking of upper secondary school students:

4. Other Estonian competitions:
4.1 Has won 1st–3rd place in the TV show Rakett 69 as an upper secondary school student.
4.2 Has won 1st–3rd place in the junior or senior age group of the Kübernaaskel (CyberSpike) competition within the last two years preceding admission.
4.3 Has won 1st–5th place in the engineering competition Enginaator within the last two years preceding admission.
4.4 Has won 1st place in the online math challenge E-rehkendus at the upper secondary school level.
4.5 Has has won 1st – 3rd prize in the National Contest of Young Scientists.
4.6 Has won 1st – 10th place in TalTech’s competition Labürindijooks (Labyrinth Rally) in the year of admission;
4.7 Has won 1st place in the engineering competition Vesinikuvõistlus in the last three years preceding admission. Admission under this special criterion is granted only to the study programmes of the School of Engineering and the School of Science.
4.8 Has won 1st place in the competition Spagetisild (Spaghetti Bridge) as an upper secondary school student within the last three years preceding admission. Admission under this special condition is granted only to the study programmes in the School of Engineering.

5. Special criteria under which admission is granted only to the study programmes in the School of Information Technologies:
5.1 Up to 15 top graduates of the 3-year elective course Digital Product Development / Digital Product Design (Codesters.club).
5.2 Up to 10 top graduates of the intensive course for programming kood/Jõhvi.
5.3 Up to 10 top graduates of the 12-month programming and mentorship course Women To Tech/WoTech.
5.4 A candidate who has achieved 1st – 6th place in the competition TalTech AI in the year of admission or in the two preceding years.
5.5 A candidate who has achieved 1st – 3rd place in the competition Noor Meister in the IT sector in the year of admission or in the two preceding years.
5.6 A candidate who has achieved 1st – 3rd place in the EuroSkills or WorldSkills competition in the IT sector in the year of admission or in the two preceding years.
5.7 A candidate who has achieved 1st – 2nd place in the ASI Karikas programming competition in the year of admission or in the two preceding years.
5.8 A candidate who has completed a 4-year IT programme at a vocational school will be admitted to the following study programmes under special criteria: IT Systems Administration, IT Systems Development, Hardware Development and Programming (eligibility requires achieving the qualification level 441, completing the programme in Estonian or at least 60% in Estonian, specialising as an IT systems specialist or software developer, fulfilling the workload of  240 ECVET credit points, passing the vocational examination (defending a graduation thesis) with a grade 5 (excellent), graduating with honours and holding a certificate of at least B2-level proficiency in the Estonian language).

6. I hereby repeal Order No 1-9/192 of 30 November 2023 “The Olympiads, Competitions and Elective Courses that the University Takes into Account upon Admission to the University Under Special Conditions”.
