The Regulation is established based on subsection 9 (17) of the Statutes of Tallinn University of Technology.
§ 1. The Statute of Recognition of Supporters regulates the provision of donations, monetary and non-monetary support to Tallinn University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as “university”) and the recognition of supporters, donors, sponsors and cooperation partners (hereinafter referred to as “supporter”).
§ 2. Donations, incl. bequests to the foundation Development Fund of Tallinn University of Technology and other associations fully owned by the university, shall also be deemed to be donations made to the university. Purchasing a service, including advertising, from a university is not deemed to be a donation.
§ 3. A supporter may be a legal person or a natural person (hereinafter referred to as “person”).
§ 4. The Rector approves the procedure for recognizing supporters, donors and cooperation partners in order to operationally manage and explain the recognition process.
§ 5. A person who has donated money, monetarily appraisable assets or other benefits to the university is deemed to be a supporter and the supporter’s title depends on the value of the support:
(1) the title Gold Sponsor is awarded to a person who has donated at least 100,000 (or more) euros or assets of similar value during a calendar year;
(2) the title Major Sponsor is awarded to a person who has donated at least 30,000 to 100,000 euros or assets of similar value during a calendar year;
(3) the title Sponsor is awarded to a person who has donated at least 5,000 to 30,000 euros or assets of similar value during a calendar year.
§ 6. The Rector awards the titles Gold Sponsor, Major Sponsor and Sponsor based on the list drawn up and submitted to the Rector for approval by the Alumni and Support Relations Office. The list is prepared based on the proposals submitted by the area directors, heads of academic units, the head of the Technology Transfer Office and the Alumni and Support Relations Office.
§ 7. In addition, the title Tallinn University of Technology Sponsor of the Year is awarded to the person who donated the most to the university in the previous calendar year.
§ 8. In addition, the title Honorary Sponsor is awarded to a university supporter whose cumulative donations made over time meet the following criteria:
(1) a private person who has donated more than 100,000 euros or assets of similar value;
(2) a company who has donated more than 500,000 euros or assets of similar value.
§ 9. Upon signing the corresponding agreement, a university supporter is provided with a virtual supporter label, which the supporter can use to promote his/her company or organization.
§ 10. The university organises a supporter appreciation event once a calendar year.
§ 11. Repeal of a Regulation
Regulation No 3 of the Senate of Tallinn University of Technology of 16 May 2023 “Statute of Recognition of Supporters” is repealed.
§ 12. Entry into force of the Regulation
The Regulation will enter into force upon signature.
